Constellation Build Cheat Sheet

Use .stars build to add any of the 88 Modern IAU constellation patterns to the constellation book in your left hand.

If you just want to observe the Internationally defined Constallations. Just grab a blank book, a quil/ink, and use the cheat commands bellow.

Before You Build

You need:

A blank normal book or an existing AstraTerra constellation book in your left hand.
Ink and quill in your inventory.

Use the three-letter IAU code for the most reliable command:

.stars build Ori

The current sky culture can also be named explicitly:

.stars build modern_iau:Ori

The culture prefix is optional while Modern IAU is the only authored sky culture. Full names work for single-word names such as Orion, but the codes also work for names containing spaces.

Admin Test Catalog

An administrator with the Vintage Story give privilege can create one written book containing all 88 patterns:

/stars give-catalog

Creative-mode players can also drag Star Catalog and The Zodiac from the AstraTerra creative inventory tab. The command adds Star Catalog to the caller's inventory without requiring ink and quill. Put the book in your left hand to render all authored lines or test constellation selection with the Calibrated Astrolabe.

For a smaller test book containing only the traditional twelve zodiac constellations, run:

/stars give-zodiac

This adds a book titled The Zodiac in sign order from Aries through Pisces. Ophiuchus is not part of this traditional twelve-sign test set.

After Building

The new pattern is saved in the held book and becomes the selected constellation. These commands are useful next:

.stars list
.stars info selected
.stars name selected <new name>
.stars delete selected
